Really nice to see Lovie Smith make it to the Super Bowl as a head coach. Smith, when Mike Martz hired him turned around a dreadful Rams’ defense allowing us to get back to the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
It really is kinda fun to look at coaching trees and see how many assistants flourish as a head coach, especially the ones that have worked under excellent head coaches.
Dungy had Lovie in Tampa as the linebacker’s coach, Herm Edwards as a secondary coach, and new Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. Not bad huh?
This should be a classic Super Bowl offense vs. defense. The Colts offense seems to be able to score on anyone, while the Bears defense played extremely hard in the playoffs.
As far as Ram Nation, the coaches are heading down to watch Senior Bowl practices and interview potential draftees. Interesting footnote, the coaches will leave before the actual game. Guess a week of watching practices is enough to gauge the talent.
Still have my fingers crossed that Leonard Little will make the Pro Bowl. He is 1st alternate so if one of the named players misses the game due to injury LL is there. He deserves it.
GO RAMS!!!
