Rams Satisfied At This Point?

We've had the free agency and we've had the draft. All this is left now is the supplemental draft which is usually no big deal and then of course, training camp. Ahh, yes, training camp, where all the players get to sweat and battle it out for a roster spot, as well as a starting spot. There will be plenty of battles come late July, particularly at the offensive line spot. As for battling for a roster spot, that should be interesting along the defensive line.
There seems to be one question lingereing though... should the Rams be satisfied at point? Sure the offense looks beastly after the additions of WR Drew Bennett, TE Randy McMichael, and drafting Rutgers RB Brian Leonard, but what about the defense? That defense that finished 31st against the run a year ago. That defense that gave up 183 yards on just 25 carries from LT. That defense that gave up too many big plays. That defense may be the only question mark heading into training camp.
The week heading up to the draft all of us Rams fans were so excited. We were sure to get big ole Kris Jenkins from the Panthers to solve all of our problems. We had the Tony Softli connections, we were sure to get a deal done. Yeaaa... that didn't work to well. Instead the Rams spent their 1st pick on Adam Carriker, a defensive end from Nebraska. Carriker was quickly moved in to the tackle position where it remains to be seen if that will be enough for the D.
Shortly after the draft, the Rams traded away their 1st round DT pick, Jimmy Kennedy to the Denver Broncos. While Kennedy never lived up to be anything big, was it such a good move replacing him with three rookies to battle it out along with Wroten who has just one year under his belt?
Unless the Rams go for Tank Johnson who will miss eight games already due to suspension, the Rams are set to go with one veteran and group of youngsters. Whether or not these young Rams can stop the run will have a great impact on how their season turns out. They added Hall opposite of Little who has great skills and great experience and they added Draft to the linebacking corps to improve depth.
Depending on whether or not this defense can limit the other teams scoring enough to where the offense can put up enough points should determine whether this years Rams are a playoff team or just another mediocre season.
GO RAMS !!!
