No Hundred Yard Rusher!

One game don't make a season, especially a pre season game. Yes, I am well aware of that. You don't have to remind me. But when you are so use to seeing everyone and their grandmother get a 100 yards against the Rams defense, this is the first thing you hone in on.
Generally I'm not one who focuses in on defenses, I prefer the excitement of the offense, but after so many seasons witnessing a never ending decline in defense, it's hard not to make that your focus coming into the 2007 season.
So the first thing I looked for when scouring the stats from the Vikings game was whether or not the Rams let even the ball boy get a 100 yard game. To my surprise and pleasure, they didn't. You heard that correct, the Rams did not allow any Tom, Dick or Harry grab that ball and run a 100 yards. OK, so it was against the Vikings who have a young inexperienced offense, but it didn't matter in 2006 who they played against, they made that runner for that week a household name and a fantasy football hero!

If the debut of the defense is any indication of what is to come after the pre season, then it's very possible that Haslett may finally have himself a defense that people are going to be looking at and not laughing at.
Carriker proved in his debut at NT that it's OK to move a rookie to a new position, as long as he's Adam Carriker. Adam made his prescense known to anyone who tried to penetrate up the middle. What a novel concept, stuffing the middle of the line! He was hard nosed, tough, smart and didn't back down from anyone. Just what the team has been looking for and it looks like they may have gotten it right this time.
The Rams new defensive debut has given all Rams fans a glimmer of hope for the upcoming season!
GO RAMS !!!
