Let's Chill Out!

Caught myself muttering and getting extremely angry Sunday, as I'm sure many of you fellow Rams' fans were doing likewise! We lost a game we should have won, plain and simple. As it was another example of my "leisure time" where I was steaming and no doubt sending my blood pressure into levels it shouldn't be at, I wondered where my "leisure" went.

I find myself either "steaming" or trying to look away as I do many times during a game, whether it be Rams, or your favorite college or NBA or MLB team, and I'm thinking I need to step back, turn it down a few notches, and chill out. I think I've become that way since the "Greatest Show on Turf" years for the Rams, and my beloved White Sox 2005 World Series Championship team.

I'm not saying I'm going to care less that the team plays well, but I (and We) need to keep this in perspective. It is a pastime we all enjoy, but today was just a day I'm thinking "Hold on here – get a grip, remember-it's a game!" If you recognize yourself in my description, maybe you need to chill some, too.

Speaking for myself, I think past success of my two favorite teams spoiled me, because I don't remember getting quite so riled up over each game as I do now. As I recall, some of the reasons we get involved in following sports is as a break from each of our "daily grinds", so what's up with losing perspective? Again, where’d that "leisure" go?

GO RAMS!!!
