So Much Devistation

It seems to get harder and harder each week to write something, anything to keep our readers interested. The things that have been happening to the Rams is just well, indescribable. How can any of us expect the team to even function with so many injuries plaguing them? It's just incomprehensible.
Yet fans and local sportswriters alike can't seem to get it out of their heads that what is happening is all their fault and it's unforgiveable to fall so low into the pit of the NFL. There's no doubt though that Sunday's game basically has one sole person that fingers can all be pointed at for the dismal display of offense. Gus Frerottes 5 INT's and 1 lost fumble are well inexcusable at any level of football. And yes, we all have a right to expect more than that. But that doesn't dismiss the fact that this team is so limited with regards to healthy players, so much so that they had to reach into their practice squad just to be able to field the team legally on Sunday, that you can't ignore the truth that even if the backups pick up their game....there's no one there for them should they go down and the scariest part of all is that we are averaging 2-3 injuries per game.
They say adversity builds character and that may be true, just how much character it will bring to the Rams is yet to be seen, will the adversity lead them in the direction to where they band together as a league of brothers or will the adversity rip them apart causing disention, discourse, and finger pointing among themselves? Will the adversity continue to affect the fans in a negative way or will their fans finally wake up and come to the realization that so much of what has hit this team has been completely unforseeable and well as unpreventable. Will the character of the Rams fan base continue to erode or will they come to understand how important it is for them, right now, to show more empathy and compassion to a team that is not only physically crippled but emotionally distraught?
Marshall Faulk, who has to deal with his coworkers riding him about the state of the Rams had this to say.
"It's painful," Faulk said. "But it's harder for the guys who are there, playing. They're hurting. Without a doubt, it's a bad situation. Who wants to be, after Week Six, start talking about next year? It's early. I hope they find a way to turn it around. But they have so many injuries and that's tough to overcome in this league."
Faulk's right, it's painful and we as fans need to feel their pain, not just ours as fans, but feel the pain of the team and grow from it, grow to become more understanding and less judgemental. Now is NOT the time to turn and run away. The Rams have to continue to ride out the season and they shouldn't have to do it alone.
GO RAMS!!!
