With the passing of Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, this franchise has the opportunity for a significant overhaul. Change is always difficult, but we all know that sometimes things require change for growth, and prosperity.
Enter Chip Rosenbloom. He has the opportunity to make a clean break from John Shaw and Jay Zygmunt. These two have been with the organization for over 30 years. Shaw has essentially run the franchise for Frontiere. Certainly Shaw has been a successful team president. His main weakness wasn’t knowledge or football intelligence, it was friendship. Shaw and Zygmunt are simply too close. Zygmunt has been promoted from CFO to CFO, VP of Operations/GM. Too much on anyone’s plate especially one whose background is finance, and not football personnel.
That being said Rosenbloom will almost certainly get Shaw’s resignation letter. When Rosenbloom feels comfortable that he can run the show he will need to hire the right people to assist him as owner.
In a presidential year that seemingly every candidate is touting change; hopefully Rosenbloom will instill change that will benefit the Rams for years to come.
Go Rams!
