Bye Week is Bye Year For Rams

Talk about giving new meaning to the Bye. First it was bye-bye Bennett, then bye-bye Fakhir, then bye-bye Linecrap, and now it's bye-bye McMichael.
And it was almost bye-bye Bulger. Any more byes and we're gonna need a box of tissue and a bottle of Wild Turkey. Who ever said that there’s no crying in football?
The one saving grace of this week is that the Rams didn't lose. Of course, they were favored to lose to the bye by 17 points according to one sports bureau,
and according to Yahoo fantasy are defensively rated below Kansas City for the upcoming week. Normally that wouldn't be such a stretch, except that…Kansas City has a bye!
Week 6 holds for us the Washington Redskins in the Nation's capital, where as of today is forecasted to be in the high 70's at game time with no rain.
This should be a great game to finally get of the schneid (in gin rummy, to get "schneidered" is to lose all the hands in a game, and pay double or some
larger than usual amount. Thus, if you've lost a few hands in a row, and your opponent(s) are in danger of getting to the winning total, you're delighted to win one hand, to
"get off the schneid," to get any score on the score pad, so that you minimize the amount you'll lose). New coach, new attitude, new, uh, old QB, and a division that
can be won at 7-9. Time to let the players play and the coaches coach, and it's time for a win.
Naturally, getting off the schneid brings out the eternal optimist, and kindles the hope of overtaking the opposition. And that's what we need a team full of optimism and pride,
and fans that will fill up the Dome and go crazy for our team no matter what. Not sell their tickets to the opponents, or allow opposing fans to pimp their team's colors in our
house, especially behind our endzone. Absentee fanism really sucks.
The bye week is now over, and incredibly, impossibly the division crown is staring the Rams in the face. Now all they have to do is go out and get it.
Sure would be nice to finish up the bye week by saying bye-bye to winless. And with that, I say good…day.
Go Rams!
