Not An Embarrassing Loss

Figures when it rolls around for my turn to write again, it's another loss I get to write about!

At least though I have to admit it was not an embarrassing loss. The way the Patriots kept coming back with a score to match each score we made, the team could have easily lapsed back into that shell that Haslett made them crawl out of. That says a lot about the coach and how the players feel about him.

We may have lost against the cheaters, but we played with heart and matched them statistically in every aspect throughout the entire game. Going home on the plane the guys should still be holding their heads high, knowing that they never gave up, not even in the end when it came down to the wire.

I would like to point out the refs were still up to their old tricks, turning their backs on real close calls on the Pats to the flagrant fouls that should have been called. I'm not saying that any of these could have changed the game, because you never know. It's just that it gets so damn old seeing that happen time after time with this team.

I give two thumbs up to the incredible play of Donnie Avery! Just last week I would have said he's a rising star on the horizon but I believe that with his performance he broke over that horizon as a true star! What an amazing young player and if he doesn't get NFC Player of the Week this week I'll be shocked. (Oops wait, what am I saying? He was playing against the Pats, it'll probably be overlooked.)

Overall I feel Haslett and his staff did a very good job preparing for this games and sometimes even good preparation doesn't pay off. But what matters is that, they continue to do so and not give up. I love Haslett's gutsy moves as HC and I hope that this loss won't cause him to back off from taking chances.

My jury is still out on Bulger, I still don't think he's playing up to the standards he should be playing and a lot of those sacks he took should fall on his shoulders. He needs to stop taking those sacks that are avoidable. Throw the damn ball away!

None of us like a loss, like duh! But I'm still very proud of the way this team performed overall.

Go Rams!
