The GSOT is the Past Folks

As fans I think we love to remember the good old days. when things where better. As Rams'
fans we seem to want to instantly return to the GSOT days. Kurt Warner was throwing to Bruce, Holt,
while Fletcher was making big stops on the defensive side. Those days are very long gone, and that
doesn't need to be a sad thing. We as fans witnessed a record breaking few years that
produced a World Championship, and a NFC Championship. Realize how few of those players are
still playing in the league, and how many different stops they have made since wearing the blue and gold.
Warner, and Fletcher are the two exceptions to father time thus far, although both have been on
multiple teams since their days as Rams. What is the point?
The point is that too many folks try to rekindle those past glories. Message boards flooded
exclaiming that Warner will be a free agent next year, Vermeil would be a great GM, Marshall
Faulk could be the next Ozzie Newsome as the Rams' President of Pro Personnel. Nice thought but c'mon.
Warner is 37, and is playing well because he has a very good o-line, two great WR's, and a rookie
RB that has 11 TDs thus far.
Vermeil is 71 I believe, and has zero experience running a franchise. He is a coach, and fantastic
motivator. Also he surrounds himself with his friends wherever he goes.
Faulk was a hall a famer who knows X's and O's. He may well develop into a great front
office executive but he has barely hung up his cleats. He would need to learn from a true football man,
and last checked the Rams don't have that.
So remember the good old days but please enough already of trying to recreate the GSOT.
Go Rams!
