Beyond 2008

The Rams of 2008 and for the last few years have not run their team and organization in a proper fashion. Much has been made about player personnel and all the misses on players in both free agency and the draft. That is what fans look at and rightly so, but good teams invest in the right areas for success. If you had a software company that distributed games for people to play on their computers, one would imagine that the company would invest large sums of money in their research and development departments to ensure high quality products that people would buy. Taking that simple analogy the Rams who spend millions of dollars on re-signing players as well as luring free agents, use a outside service to provide insight and worth of veteran players.
So is it so surprising that the team has missed on so many players? Jamie Duncan can be a cheaper just as effective MLB as London Fletcher. Corey Chavous, resigning Timoisamoa, Gus Ferrotte, Jacob Bell, etc etc.
The mantra should be leadership changes and is rectified at the top. Unless ownership fixes the infrastructure and leaders progress will not yield results. You can’t cut half the team, but you can follow teams that were worse than the Rams recently like the Dolphins, and Falcons, and hire the right people to make decisions that will help or hurt your team for years to come.
Go Rams!
