Here's to the Future

It appears that the two seasons of terrible football will have a long range positive effect on the Rams. I hoped this would be the case once we had to endure such a low point in our team's fortunes. We now have a solid football man in the GM chair and he has the authority to make the actual football/personnel decisions without having to argue with a 'suit' or have the 'suit' overrule him. He in turn has hired as the head coach a football 'lifer' who is totally dedicated to his profession, and especially important to this team at this time, is a proven leader whom players look up to and follow his leadership.

I think the future is brighter at this point than it has been since Carroll Rosenbloom drowned. It may not be tomorrow, next week, or next month, but I think we will see encouraging signs this coming 2009 season. They may be small steps, but we WILL see improvements, and they will just be the tip of the iceberg.

I don't believe this would be happening now or in the near future if the team hadn't pretty much 'went in the tank' over the last two years. There would be inertia to leave things as they are if the team was even within shouting distance of a .500 record. We would still have Jay Zygmunt doing a job he is not qualified to do, and would have an uneasy, queasy uncertainty about the teams future.

We;ve been through the roughest part, everybody be sure to stick around long enough to see the turnaround that is soon to begin.

Go Rams!
