2009 Schedule

The 2009 schedule was released Tuesday April 14th and what do ya know – no prime time appearances for the Rams. While this is not a surprise, let’s take a look at what is:

1. Two road games to open the season – that hasn’t happened to the Rams in five years, and then the opening home game is against the Packers, which will be like a road game anyway. If last year is any indication of this year, then all our games will be like road games.

2. Travel mileage – give me a break! Over 10,000 miles the first half of the season is ridiculous.

3. Three straight home games immediately following our Week 9 bye, with New Orleans, Arizona and Seattle coming to town. Talk about doing us a favor. That’s a month without leaving home. NICE!

Overall our schedule is favorable - we play only four teams that made the playoffs last year. Last year we had a rather tough schedule, so it’s nice to see that the football peeps are being kind to us this year. Sorta - most of the teams we play could end up fighting for the playoffs. Guess until we are that good every schedule will be a bummer, but hey - at least the entire country won’t be able to see us get our butts kicked!

Go Rams!
