To Fail or Not to Fail

This time of year is great because there is so much going on - baseball is in the home stretch,
NASCAR is getting ready for the cup races, and football is finally here again. Exciting times for a sports
fan, especially for us Rams fans because the new regime will get a chance to show off their game on Friday
against the Jets. It will be interesting to see how Spags motivates his players to step up in the absence
of the Pace and Holt, two fixtures that will be very hard to replace. Will they be able to pull it together
and win more than 3 games this year, or will it once again be an NFL laughingstock?
I know that it is sacrilegious to vote against one's own team, but in the back of my mind I look at this season as one of value at failure. For the first time in years,
there is a draft class coming up with three flat out stud QB's whom each of which would fit great on our team.
If Bulger keeps throwing picks in the red zone and can't get rid of his "deer in the headlights" persona, this team will need one of those QB's more than anything else.
So with the failure that has become the staple for our Rams comes the realization that if we fail again this
year it would be a great year to do it. Is it a solid to wish for our team to succeed, because we KNOW
that success still will not translate into a playoff-winning team this year, or do we secretly wish for
another bad season and the drafting of a new stud QB to start off the season for next year's new coach?
Either way, I for one hope that no matter what happens our players give their full effort and leave nothing
on the table. Failure is not an option, for any reason. Or is it....
Go Rams!
