Which QB Will It Be?

What I saw from Thursday's game has me excited for this season. Outside of terrible special
teams we appear to be head-and-shoulders better already. Whether we have Boller or Bulger
starting the season remains to be seen, but it would appear to me that Boller is the better
choice RIGHT NOW. For the long haul there is no way to know, but with Marc having been
unable to play and Boller deftly managing the offense, I believe that he provides us with
the best opportunity to win RIGHT NOW. Perhaps a few extra games allowing Marc more time
to heal his poor little pinky will also allow him to watch a veteran QB stand in the pocket
and take a hit instead of panicking like he likes to do.
It did not take long for me to see the difference in Boller's pocket presence and that
of Bulger's. Perhaps it is because Boller was out last year due to an injury of his own and
is physically ready to take a QB beating, or maybe it's just because he is new to this O-Line
and it's penchant for getting our QB's slaughtered, but whatever the case, he is willing to
stand in there and deliver the pass instead of being a fraidie-cat and throwing it away or
tucking it and waiting for the crunch. If Bulger can just sit and watch for a few games
and see for himself that the new O-Line is much better, he should be able to come back in
week three or so and take over with the confidence he displayed before signing his huge
overpriced contract.
It is amazing that there is even the discussion of this matter, but it is what it is and only
time will tell if Marc can out duel Kyle and keep his job. If Kyle keeps playing well, it may
become a team issue and not just the fans'. Whatever the case, hopefully Spags will make it
known soon so that the team and we fans can look to the future and focus more on the play
than the players.
