Paying For the Past

It appears to me we are paying for the past shortcomings of the Rams organization in more ways than some of us realize.
On top of the 3-13 and 2-14 seasons, we are cutting loose people who were high draft picks from recent years, and losing another one to injury.
In today's NFL, the draft is a mainstay in keeping a contending team solid, or in building a team into a contender. The failure of the front office to do that in recent years is underlined by the recent moves made by the Rams, and by that atrocious won-loss record. We have seen the enemy, and the enemy was us! The upside of this is that we have people in place now who are smart, capable, and fearless enough to recognize mistakes and correct them, even if it is a high pick with a lot invested in them.
I hope we all have the patience in us to allow the organization to make a long term fix and get the team positioned for an extended run as a contending team for years to come!
Go Rams!
