Powerful runner…outstanding athlete with ability to catch, run inside, or run outside…can be one of the best in the NFL…selected by Rams in the first round (24th overall) of 2004 NFL Draft.
2006: Ranked fifth in the NFL with 1,528 yards on 346 carries and nine touchdowns...second straight 1,000-yard rushing season. Ranked number one in the NFL for a running back in reception yards with 806 yards and 90 receptions and three touchdowns....was ranked number one in the NFL with the most yards from the line of scrimmage, passing Marshall Faulk with 2,334 yards overall. Proved in all categories to be the Rams star running back of the future.
2005: Ranked seventh in NFC (14th in NFL) with 1,046 yards on 254 carries and eight touchdowns…first 1,000-yard rushing season…rushed 20 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns vs. New Orleans in Week 7, first multiple rushing touchdown game of career…rushed 25 times for career-high 179 yards, including career-long 51-yarder, vs. Jacksonville in Week 8…25 carries for 110 yards and one touchdown at Houston in Week 12.
2004: Second on team, third among NFL rookies, with 673 yards on 134 carries with a team-high four rushing touchdowns…performance ranked fourth in Rams’ history for rushing for a rookie (Eric Dickerson 1,808; Jerome Bettis 1,429; Ron Waller 716)…rushed seven times for 50 yards in NFL debut vs. Arizona 9/12…rushed career-high 26 times for 119 yards vs. San Francisco 12/5, first-career 100-yard performance…rushed 24 times for a career-high 148 yards and one touchdown vs. Philadelphia 12/27…performance marked the sixth best rushing performance by a rookie in team history.
College Career
Like most franchise backs, Jackson seems to thrive when allowed to carry the bulk of the offensive load … The two-time All-American posted fantastic numbers in 2003 … His career at OSU ended after three seasons, becoming the first Beaver player in history with eligibility remaining to enter the NFL Draft … In 36 games, he carried 743 times for 3,625 yards (4.9 avg.) and 39 touchdowns while adding 680 yards and six scores on 66 catches (10.3 avg.) and 240 yards with a touchdown on seven kickoff returns (34.3 avg.) … His 4,545 all-purpose yards rank second in school history behind Ken Simonton (5,606, 1998-2001) … Also ranks second to Simonton (366) on the school's all-time scoring list with 276 points … His 3,625 yards rushing rank 10th in Pac-10 Conference annals … Ran for over 100 yards in 19 contests.

Born Steven Rashad Jackson in Las Vegas, NV … attended Eldorado High in Las Vegas … selected as first-team prep all-America and No. 1 prep player in Nevada by SuperPrep Magazine following senior year … selected by Las Vegas Sun to the paper’s "Super 11" second team … all-America pick by Prep Star … led state in rushing as senior with 2,764 yards and 34 touchdowns on 386 carries and caught 14 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns, giving him 226 points on the season … 226 points also was top mark in Nevada for 2000 … as junior, rushed for 1,212 yards and scored 17 touchdowns to lead Devils to 10-3 record, Northeast Division title, the Sunrise Region championship, and appearance in the 4A State Tournament … named Player of the Year in Nevada and Southern Nevada’s Co-Offensive Player of the Year … first-team all-conference (Sunrise Region) pick as senior as well as first-team all-state…finished with 3,976 yards and 51 rushing touchdowns in career, both marks were school records … three-year starter in football, two-year starter in basketball (guard), and was a four-year letterman in track as sprinter … posted 10.6 best at 100 meters as junior … following graduation from Eldorado, his football jersey number (34) was retired by the school … was on honor roll and also member of the National Honor Society … single … resides in St. Louis.
